By November 22, reports that Kaylee Goncalves may have had a stalker had become a major part of the public discussion surrounding the case. Moscow Police said investigators had pursued hundreds of pieces of information related to those reports but, at that point, had not been able to verify or identify a stalker.
The Missing Weapon
Police also clarified what investigators believed they were looking for. The weapon was believed to be a fixed-blade knife, but it had not been located. Detectives had contacted local businesses to determine whether a fixed-blade knife had recently been purchased, and no suspect was in custody.
