As the investigation entered its second week, rumors and speculation were spreading quickly. Moscow Police addressed several of them directly. Police confirmed that a dog was found at the King Road residence and was unharmed. The dog was turned over to Animal Services and later released to a responsible party.

Police said they were aware of a separate report involving a skinned dog in Latah County and determined it was unrelated to the King Road murders. They also addressed reports of other deceased animals found on a Moscow resident’s property, saying those deaths were caused by wildlife activity and were also unrelated to the case.
