Two days after four University of Idaho students were found dead at 1122 King Road, Moscow Police released more information about the investigation. Police said the deaths had been ruled homicides and investigators believed an edged weapon, such as a knife, had been used. At that point, no weapon had been found and no suspects were in custody.
1Police described the killings as an “isolated, targeted attack” and said there was no imminent threat to the community at large. But with no suspect in custody and the weapon still missing, that reassurance would soon become an important part of the developing story. Just one day later, Chief James Fry would tell the public they could not say there was no threat to the community.
